Local Idol Gives Back

PRLog (Press Release)– Apr 13, 2011– SAN ANTONIO METRO AREA, April 08, 2011 — America got to witness a special relationship between local cowboy John Wayne Schulz and his mother on national television as he fulfilled a promise to her to audition for American Idol.  John Wayne's mother was diagnosed with cancer, and her dream was to see her son receive the exposure and recognition that she felt he deserved.  Well audition he did, and made it all the way to the Top 40 on American Idol Season 10!  Now this small town boy with a loving heart gives back in a big way.

Joining forces with Team in Training, John Wayne Schulz will perform a benefit concert at the County Line on I-10 and DeZevala on May 13, 2011 from 7-10pm.  This event is open to the public and all money raised will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Admission to the event is free.  Open donations will be collected and items will be auctioned off all in an effort to raise money to assist with research and the quest for a cure. The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support alfa romeo services.

"I have learned through watching my mother endure cancer, that mental attitude is a huge part of the battle," Schulz says. "Knowing that there are organizations like LLS w ferrari orking diligently to find a cure brings hope.  As long as patients and their families have hope, there is always a reason to fight.  It is important that we all do what we can to raise money and support quality organizations that perform medical research…and it doesn't hurt to have some fun along the way!."

The event will be filled with live music, stories from cancer survivors, and opportunities for all who attend to donate.
