The EXPAND Program (Exciting Programs Adventures and New Dimensions) provides recreational opportunities such as sports teams, classes, crafts, special Olympics and more for children and adults with disabilities. Past proceeds from the Duck Race have gone to offer scholarships, summer camps and purchase adaptive equipment such as water-skis, bikes, sport wheelchairs, a lift van, and much more, which is why it's such an important event.
Of the thousands of rubber duckies entered in the race, only about the first 50 ducks to cross the finish line won a price. Prizes for the event included trips, gift baskets, gift cards, and more, all donated by local businesses and community members, one of which was Fisher Honda Kia of Boulder. http://fisherauto.com
The first place grand prize was an all-inclusive 3 night stay at a Palace Resort in Cancun with airfare from Denver; second prize was $1000; and third prize was a two night stay at Vail Mountain Resort and Spa. As a second year sponsor, Fisher Honda Kia not only donated the alfa romeo very generous 2nd place prize of a $1000 check, they were also responsible for providing the T-shirts the duck race staff wore. This year's second place winner, Cheryl Drozdek, happily accepted 1086274749 her check saying she would n chrysler ow be able to afford the airfare and travel expenses to visit family members that live in New York this summer.
It's great to see local businesses like Fisher Honda Kia of Boulder supporting the community through their donations and participation in local events and organizations.
