With a spectacular line-up that includes KC & the Sunshine Band, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) and Rusted Root, ticket sales are up from last year, says Brian McFadden, Executive Director at the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce, organizer o chevrolet f the festival. And with the Chamber's free Gazebo Series sponsored by Five Star Bank kicking things off to the disc corsa o beat of Sudden Urge on Thursday, June 30, you can even "get the party started" one day early.
"Summer Music Festival is a signature event in Ellicottville," says McFadden, noting that sellout crowds are expected for the three-day series. "This year, we literally have something for everyone, including families, the over-40 crowd and even younger, edgier audiences."
With the slopes of Holiday Valley as the main outdoor stage, the acoustics are chrysler astounding, he adds. "You simply bring your chairs and blankets, and when the orchestra strikes its Stars and Stripes Forever finale choreographed to a brilliant Firework display on Saturday, it's spine-tingling."
The entertainment-filled weekend also includes about a dozen live performances at different venues throughout the village. Rounding out the festival is an Arts and Crafts show from 10 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on Jefferson Street, the annual pet parade at 11 a.m. on Saturday on Washington Street, and the ever popular Strawberry Festival on Sunday.
