Thousands of Yorkshire homes are gas safe thanks to Help-Link

PRLog (Press Release)– Jul 27, 2011– Over 7,800 local authority owned homes across the Yorkshire region have all been inspected and repaired as necessary by the company's 130 engineers.

One of the largest central heating specialists in the North of England, Help-Link bmw was awarded the 'super' contract as a result of a collaborative procurement programme managed by the Northern Housing Consortium (NHC).

Car costs slight fall despite petrol price hike

PRLog (Press Release)– Jul 19, 2011– RACV's 2011 Driving Your Dollars survey of 94 cars found that overall the average cost of owning and running a vehicle has dropped 1.6 % from last year's survey. Lower interest rates on vehicle loans and slightly lower servicing expenses have helped in the overall drop despite increased petrol prices.

The survey found that manufacturers who have introduced fixed price servicing programs have also helped to keep costs down for vehicle buyers. It also found that low emission vehicles use less fuel but the more expensive purchase price attracts high standing costs.

Excellent fuel economy was also no guarantee of a car gaining top spot in its category. Australia's most fuel efficient car for the second year running, the Ford Fiesta Econetic, was the cheapest in the survey to run at 11.86c/km but its standing costs were $47.06 per week higher than the Suzuki Alto.

In the light car category, the Suzuki Alto came out on top at $110.64 per week to own and run.

The Alto is part of a growing group of budget priced light cars including the Holden Barina Spark and Nissan Micra that made up the top three in this class.

The small car class was the most tightly fought in this year's survey with the top six vehicles all within $5 per week of each other. However, Hyundai i30 SX at $157.30 per week took the honours ahead of the Volkswagen Golf 77 TSI and the diesel-powered i30 SX. In this category, the MINI Cooper Diesel was overall the cheapest to run, at 11.02 c/km, but its high standing costs pushed it to $183.99 per week. The T chevrolet oyota Prius was overall the most costly to run at $203.12 per week.

The three most expensive vehicles were again the Toyota Land Cruiser petrol and diesel along with the Prado. The Toyota Land Cruiser GXL diesel topped the category costing $387.21 per week.

RACV Manager Vehicle Engineering, Michael Case, said vehicle deprecia audi tion was the ticking time bomb with many car buyers failing to recognise it as a major vehicle cost.

"In the 2011 survey, depreciation accounts for an average of 39% and while car owne rc helicopter and car market place rs do not hand over 39 cents in every dollar they spend each week, in five years' time when they are looking to trade their vehicle that's when the depreciation costs kick in significantly," said Mr Case.

"It's important to look at the whole picture when shopping for a vehicle. The price of the car is just a piece of the puzzle. Buyers also should know how much it costs to have the car serviced, how much it costs to fill the fuel tank, tyres, car insurance (http://www.racv.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/internet/primary/ ...), registration, interest, stamp duty, drivers' licence, RACV membership, as well as the costs of spare parts like windscreens and batteries and we consider all these factors in compiling our survey."

Mr Case said many buyers were keen to purchase low emission vehicles for their fuel efficiency however the initial outlay to buy many of these vehicles 531276856  was high, resulting in high standing costs.

RACV calculations for the Driving Your Dollars survey are based on private ownership of a vehicle for a five-year period and driving an average of 15,000km each year. The data was collected in the period leading up to June 2011.

R&B Singer/Songwriter, TENIN, to Record Debut Album with Top NY Engineer Anthony “Rocky” Gallo

(New Jersey – July 11, 2011)   NY/NJ-based singer/songwriter, Tenin Baba Ndanani, is headed into the studio this month to record her debut album with top NY engineer Anthony "Rocky" Gallo.  Through a special arrangement brokered by film/television executive and screen actress, Aryn Cole, the up and coming indie R&B artist will work with Gallo to produce a 10-12 song compilation of original songs.  

Known for her mesmerizing stage performances and after buoying her career last year with a self-produced introductory EP, Tenin's production team hopes to establish her as a major recording artist with this project.  Time and fan response will soon tell.  The first single will drop next month.

With all of the songs written and arranged by Tenin, the full album release is set for November 1, 2011.  Pre-orders will begin in September.  The collection is solid R&B and Hip Hop interspersed with subtle influences of Gospel, neo-soul, reggae and Broadway show tunes.  Of her music, Tenin says, "The beats are incredible!  Once I found them, the songs just flowed out of me.  I want listeners to take an unforgettable journey with me into and through the issues of life and love that we all share, but ultimately landing at a good place—a hopeful place."

"Singapore Oil & Gas Report Q3 2011" is now available at Fast Market Research

PRLog (Press Release)– Jul 04, 2011– The latest Singapore Oil & Gas Report from BMI forecasts that the country will account for 3.71% of Asia Pacific regional oil demand by 2015, while not contributing to supply. Regional oil use of 20.6mn barrels per day (b/d) in 2001 reached an estimated 26.4mn b/d in 2010 and is forecast to rise to around 29.6mn b/d by 2015. Regional oil production was around 7.6mn b/d in 2001 and averaged an estimated 8.0mn b/d in 2010. It is set to increase to 8.2mn b/d by 2015. Oil imports are growing rapidly, because demand growth is outstripping the pace of supply expansion. In 2001, the region was importing an average 12.99mn b/d. This total rose to an estimated 18.37mn b/d in 2010 and is forecast to reach 21.4mn b/d by 2015. The principal importers will be China, Japan, India and South Korea. By 2015 the only net exporter will be Malaysia.

In terms of natural gas, in 2010 the region consumed around 511.5bn cubic metres (bcm) and demand of 653.9bcm is targeted for 2015. Production of an estimated 405.8bcm in 2010 should reach 556.7bcm in 2015, implying net imports falling from around 105.7bcm to 97.2bcm. Singapore's estimated share of gas consumption in 2010 was 1.95%, and its share is expected to rise to 2.10% by 2015. There is no gas production in Singapore. audi p>

Global GDP growth in 2011 is forecast at 3.5%, down from 4.3% in 2010. Growth in both the US and eurozone should be marginally higher than 2010, while Chinese economic expansion will slow and Japan's growth will slump to 0.7% as a result of the devastating earth car news quake and tsunami in March 2011.

Singapore's real GDP growth in 2010 stood at 14.5%, with the forecast average annual increase put at 6.2% in 2010-2015. There is no domestic oil or gas production but there is an active downstream segment, with extensive international oil company (IOC) involvement in refining and petrochemicals. Oil consumption beyond 2009 is forecast to increase by around 3% per annum to 2015, implying demand of 1.09mn b/d by the end of the forecast period. Gas demand and imports are forecast to increase from an estimated 10.0bcm in 2010 to 13.7bcm by 2015.

Between 2010 and 2020, we are forecasting an increase in Singapore's domestic oil consumption from 946,000b/d to 1.27mn b/d, with the island's refining capacity rising from 1.39mn b/d to 1.55mn b/d. Gas demand is expected to rise from around 10.0bcm in 2010 to a possible 19.7bcm by 2020, driven by power generation requirements. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports are expected to commence in 2013. Details of BMI's 10-year forecasts, which provide regional and country-specific projections, can be found later in this report.

Singapore holds 11th place, above Thailand, in BMI's composite Business Environment (BE) league table. The country ranks equal 12th (alongside Hong Kong) in BMI's updated upstream Business Environment ratings, thanks to a virtual absence of hydrocarbon resources. The score reflects the limited involvement of the government in upstream oil activities and an exceptionally healthy country risk profile, which partly offset the lack of reserves and output growth potential. The country sits ahead of South Korea and well clear of bottom-placed Taiwan in the upstream league table. Singapore ranks fourth, behind Japan, in BMI's downstream Business Environment ratings, reflecting its relatively high level of oil consumption, increasing gas demand, established modern refining capability, fuels export capability and a relatively low level of retail site intensity. It is just one point behind Japan, but two clear of South Korea, and seems likely to retain its current position.

K Lindvig: I think when we compare it to the onshore wind where onshore is more the logistic thing and the transport, it's the wind which is the challe alfa romeo nging element. When we then go offshore we have a lot more elements to take care of. We have rain at the sea, we have the current and we have the tide. We, of course, have the same - the wind and wind speed and the wind direction as we have onshore, but we have more elements and we have a lot of combinations of those elements.

Then we definitely also have the challenge of the seabeds. Onshore you have the same, more or less, ground conditions as you have offshore. Offshore you can't see them. You can measure them. And you have to be able to operate on hard seabeds, on clay sand, stones, whatever the seabeds are, and that's also a challenging element to the offshore.

Vessels have to locate from location to location. It's not the same as driving a truck or driving a crane. Now we have ships and vessels which have to do that. And we have cables not dug in the ground where we more or less can see them; now we dig them into the seabed, and the seabed could even be moving due to scour or you have near to sandbanks and seabed conditions which are changing from one time to the other. So that is a lot of different things which are a lot more challenging on the offshore wind.
